The Sandhills Circle of the North Carolina Poor People’s Campaign strongly encourages Moore County voters to attend the Meet the Candidates Forum for the Moore County Board of Education, hosted by the League of Women Voters, on Sunday, February 15th, at the Village Assembly Hall of Pinehurst from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
The League of Women Voters of Moore County is hosting a Meet the Candidates Forum at the Village Hall in Pinehurst on Sunday, February 15, from 2:30 to 4:00 pm, with all eight candidates having accepted the invitation.
The public is invited to hear the candidates introduce themselves, tell why they are running for the Board of Education, and outline their top 3 priorities for Moore County Schools. This will be followed by an opportunity to meet the candidates at their respective tables and ask questions.
Since the Board of Education is a nonpartisan election, it is the only Primary Election contest that will appear on ALL ballots, regardless of party affiliation.
For this Primary Election, voters will vote for 2 candidates. The four candidates with the most votes will be on the Ballot for the November 3rd election. The two with the most votes in November will fill the Member at Large seats.
League Members - Here's how you can HELP!
Attend the Forum. Everyone in Moore County will be voting on this race, and we NEED folks to attend. Wear your League button!
Post and share the poster and information about the Forum to as many people as possible.
Volunteer to help in one of the following ways:
setting up for the event
hosting a candidate table during the Meet and Greet portion (making sure dialogue is civil, one person doesn’t dominate)
welcoming attendees and letting them know where to sit
hosting the League table with election information and VOTE411
cleaning up after the event
whatever is needed
If you are willing to volunteer for the forum, please email Ann Torok at anntorok463@gmail.com.
